So This week has been a whole bloat of anticipation towards the 30th Asian Pageant at Verdugo and I was both excited, nervous, and serious about it all at the same time. Before our Spring break, I came up with the idea to do the Mario act and with the help of fendi, we started on it. I made the koopa and goomba that was used on stage, but that was it. After spring break, Fendi and I busted our ass off on choreography, stage hands, and prop designs. Thanks to Emily Tchang and a few other people, we got everything made on Monday, which was an eye opener. Fendi made the choreo the following day, but that still needed tweaking. Tuesday, we went up to see the rehearsals and to check if our props were properly made. Wednesday we basically had our final cut until Fendi, decides to finish the act instead of pausing it, but Thursday came, we practiced it and we got it done, but he forgot to give the final cut audio CD to Ms. Morrison. Speaking of Thursday, Wednesday night, Amy Nam asks me to be in the couples portion of the fan dance. I thank you Amy for the opportunity, yes I was hesitant at first, but I just told myself "they asked, so I'll grow some balls and do it". Shortly after I found out I was dancing with Sidney ahaha, o what fun (: I tried to get the moves down in one try, but failed ahaha. Those fans get confusing to open, gosh!
Friday came around, the one finally shot to pull out all the stops for the Asian Pageant. Practiced the fan dance, I missed one round, so sorry Sidney for she had to dance with herself, and them with Aileen >_<. Didn't eat lunch, had a juice. It was time. Back stage I was trying really hard not to loose it mentally and just started pumping myself up walking back n' forth. The couple's dance came on and I was like "lets do this, here we go." and once I stepped on to the spot lights. The rush of blood to my face and chest from the stage fright was incredible, I just felt all hot. Until, I looked over at Sidney, not looking at the crowd anymore, I felt more relieved. At the end of the dance I miss the freeze and Sidney followed, so kind of her hehe, and I just improvised, looked at the crowd, looked at Sidney, she said "o shoot I forgot" and looked back out and booked it out to the left wing >_< Felt light headed after that, but I had to rush and get dressed in all black for the Mario act. When it started, it started off well, until the middle to the end. It wasn't as I planned it, but hearing people's response, it seemed like it looked planned so I was feeling better, but still skeptical. The Mario act is over in my head, but the first stage fright from that dance is still being played over and over in my head today. Which leads me to the thing that's been on my mind.
So, the whole pageant was uploaded, people were tagged, and congratulatory wall posts spread like a wild fire. Mine in particular kept saying something in the lines of "you and Sidney's dance (plus ending) was cute!". Yup, that bugged me because I couldn't keep count of how many times people said it. I know it's a little childish, but I'm just being me. Jackie would probably give me a little lecture ahaha! But hopefully someone you get my point. Another thing has been in my head, Prom. Yes the annually Verdugo Hills Prom. I personally don't wanna go, but a part of me tells me otherwise. The reason I don't wanna go is just my parent's approval, they barely let me stay til 12 at homecoming and that was because I lied to them that my friends bought me the ticket and I didn't wanna not show up >_<, but in rationality I just wanna spend that time and money on something more subtle. But if push comes to shove I'll probably go just because it's my senior year, I got into a decent college, and it will be one of the last piece of highschool I'll spend with my friends that I care about.
On other news, My dad and I went to the Triple A at Alhambra to look at my quote to his car insurance policy and it came with surprised on how cheap it was. My one and a half year old driver's license combined with my good student driver discount and my dad's long member to triple A got me vehicle coverage (both my 96 nissan and my dad's 03' sienna) for about little over $400 per year so I was excited. Now I can drive anyone, anywhere, and until whenever :P But then my dad told me he'll start giving me the car around late May to June so that gave me a frown. In the post of Jackie's tumblr, it take a shit load of muscles to frown, but only 3 to bitch slap.
